인격교육 연구방법 소고: 질적 연구를 중심으로

본고의 목적은 인격교육 연구방법의 발전 방향을 질적 연구를 중심으로 탐색하는 데 있다. 이 논의를 전개하기 위하여 먼저, 오늘날 학계에서 통용되는 다양한 연구방법들의 차이점을 연구 자료, 방법, 초점의 측면에서 살펴보았다. 특히 양적 연구방법 및 이론적 연구방법과 현저하게 다른 질적 연구방법 및 현상 중심 연구방법에 주목하여, 이들 사이에 어떠한 패러다임적 차이가 있는가를 항목별로 비교하였다. 이어서 인격교육을 탐구하기에 적합한 연구방법이 무엇인가를 파악하기 위하여 인격교육 관련 선행 연구물을 검토하였다. 본 연구의 검토결과, 인격교육은 사람다움을 가르치거나 배우는 것과 관련된 말로서 삶에서 일어나는 인격교육 현상과 관련되어 있기 때문에, 교육 현상과 유리된 철학적 접근과는 다르게 교육 현장과 연관된 고유한 연구 영역을 지니고 있음을 알 수 있다. 인격은 형이상학적 범주에 한정되어 있지 않고 일상의 구체적 삶과 관련이 깊기 때문에, 인격교육은 가상의 추론이나 사색을 통하여 연구되기보다는 사람들 사이의 실제 삶에서 일어나는 교육 현상을 중심으로 연구될 필요가 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 인격교육 연구자들에게 교육 현장과 인격교육 현상 중심의 연구방법을 안내하기 위하여, 질적 연구에서의 자료 수집 방법, 자료 분석 방법, 연구보고서 작성 방법 등을 어떻게 하는 것인가를 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to search for a developmental direction for the methodology of Saramdaum Education (人格敎育) with being focused on qualitative research method. In this paper, therefore, the variety of contemporary methodologies is explained in terms of the trend and characteristics of research methods, including the paradigmatic differences between quantitative (theory-centered) and qualitative (phenomenon-centered) research method. Then the contents of Saramdaum Education are examined to grasp its features. According to previous studies, as contrasted with philosophical approaches, Saramdaum is connected with living in daily lives rather than metaphysical scope. Saramdaum Education is in one's moral and community life rather than through imaginary speculation, and is what is real and actual rather than abstract. Accordingly, in this paper, it is explained that qualitative research method is very useful for the study of Saramdaum and its education. Also, the tips and comments for qualitative research on Saramdaum and its education, such as data collection, data analysis, and writing paper.
