Abstract
The purpose of this study was to verify whether the QCT Havruta program, based on questioning, comparing, and peer teaching activities, is effective in enhancing young children's language creativity and readiness for self-directed learning. The experimental study was conducted from October 21 to November 15, 2024, targeting 15 five-year-old children (experimental group) from Y Kindergarten and 16 five-year-old children (control group) from S Kindergarten, both located in Gwangmyeong City, Gyeonggi Province. The experimental group participated in sessions using the researcher-developed QCT Havruta program, whereas the control group engaged in general integrated activities based on the 2019 Revised Nuri Curriculum during daily routines. The results of the study revealed two key findings. First, the QCT Havruta program had a significant positive effect on enhancing young children's language creativity. Young children in the experimental group scored notably higher than those in the control group across sub-components such as fluency, originality, flexibility, and imagination. Second, the program also demonstrated effectiveness in improving readiness for self-directed learning. The experimental group showed significantly greater improvements in the areas of self-management, learning motivation, and self-control compared to the control group. This study demonstrated that the QCT Havruta program was effective in improving young children's language creativity and readiness for self-directed learning.
