멜란히톤에게 하나님의 말씀은 인류를 향한 일반적 성격과 교회를 향한 특별한 성격을 가지고 있다. 그의 시편 주석에서 하나님의 말씀은 주로 특별한 성격으로 기록된 말씀인 성경을 가리키는데 사용된다. 성경은 구약과 신약으로 구분되는데, 멜란히톤은 이 둘을 그리스도의 오심을 기준으로 시간에 따라 구분되는 것으로 이해한다. 그러나 그 대상과 내용에 있어 둘은 사실상 동일한 한 하나님의 말씀이다. 이러한 구별과 통일성은 율법과 복음에 대한 멜란히톤의 견해를 통해 잘 설명될 수 있다. 멜란히톤은 시편 주석에서 주로 성경을 교회와 관계하여 이해한다. 성경은 교회를 규정하고, 교회는 성경을 소유한다. 그리고 무엇보다 교회는 성경을 자신에게 적용해야 한다. 그렇게 멜란히톤에게 성경은 교회를 향한 하나님의 매우 실제적인 말씀이다.
Abstract
To Melanchthon, the word of God has a general character for mankind and a special character for the church. In his psalm commentary, God's word is used primarily to refer to the Bible, which is a word written with a special character. The Bible is divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament, which Melanchthon understands as being separated over time based on the coming of Christ. But in both the object and the content, they are virtually the same God's word. This distinction and unity can be well explained by Melanchthon's view of the law and the gospel. Melanchthon mainly understands the Bible in relation to the Church in the psalm commentary. The Bible defines the church, and the church owns the Bible. And above all, the church should apply the Bible to itself. So to Melanchthon the Bible is God's very practical word for the church.
