죽산 박형룡의 행위 언약 이해에 대한 고찰

초록

개혁신학의 중요한 특징들 중 하나는 언약신학에 대한 강조이다. 다른 교파들에서도 언약신학이 도외시된 것은 아니지만, 종교개혁이후 개혁신학자들은 성경을 관통하고 있는 주제로서 언약을 강조하고 신학적 체계로 발전시키는 일에 집중했다. 그러한 발전 과정 속에서 개혁신학자들은 하나님의 언약을 크게 세 가지로 나누어 행위언약, 구속언약, 그리고 은혜언약으로 나누어서 논의하는 것이 관례가 되었다. 이 세가지 가운데 행위언약은 신학자들 가운데 많은 논란거리가 되어왔다. 본고에서 우리는 한국장로교 신학의 기초를 놓은 박형룡박사의 행위언약론을 집중적으로 논구하였다. 박형룡의 논의 순서를 따라 본고는 행위언약의 교의적 기초, 행위언약의 구성요소들, 행위언약의 영구한 의의가 무엇인지 등에 대해서 분석해 보았다. 논구의 결과 우리는 박형룡의 입장은 벌코프를 비롯한 주요 개혁신학자들의 논의를 잘 소화하고 정리해 주었다는 것을 확인하게 된다. 따라서 그의 행위언약론은 역사적 개혁주의의 주요한 해석을 잘 소개해 준다는데 가치와 의의를 지닌다고 할 것이다. 다만 21세기에 신학 작업을 하고 있는 우리들로서는 지난 100년 동안 성경신학과 조직신학 분야에서 논의된 자료들을 잘 검토하여 언약신학을 더욱 더 풍성하게 발전시켜야 할 과제를 가진다고 생각한다.

Abstract

One of the important features of Reformed theology is the emphasis on covenant theology. Although the covenant theology was not neglected in other denominations, Post-Reformation Reformed theologians emphasized on the covenant as a subject a subject that penetrates the entire Bible and made efforts to develop it into the theological system. In such a process, it was customary for Reformed theologians to divide the covenant of God into three broad categories: the covenant of works, the covenant of redemption, and the covenant of grace. Among these three covenants, the act covenant has been a subject of much controversy among theologians. In this paper, I focused on the view of covenant of works proposed by Dr. Hyungnong Park, who laid the foundation of Korean Presbyterian theology. Follwing with the order of Park's discussion, this paper analyzed the doctrinal basis of the covenant of works, the elements of the covenant of works (the contracing parties, the promise, the condition, the penalty, sacrament[s]), and then the perpetual significance of the covenant of works. As a result of the examination, we confirm that Hyungnong Park digested and summarized the theological textbooks written by important Reformed theologians including Louis Berkhof. Therefore, his view on covenant of works is worthy and meaningful in the sense of introducing the main interpretation of historic Calvinism. However, we, as the theologians working in the 21st century, have a mission to further develop the covenant theology more abundantly by examine the materials presented in the departments of Biblical Theology and Systematic Theology.
