심의린의 『조선동화대집』의 성격과 의의

조선의 대표적인 동화집에는 조선총독부에서 발간한 1924년, 『조선동화집』, 1926년 심의린이 편찬한 『조선동화대집』, 1940년 박영만의 『조선전래동화집』이 있다. 심의린은 한국 최초의 『보통학교 조선어 사전』을 만든 인물로 교육자이면서 한글 연구가이다. 그의 조선어에 대한 관심과 어린이 교육에 대한 사명감은 『조선동화대집』이라는 동화집을 탄생하게 하였다. 이 책은, 총독부와 일본인에 의해서 만들어진 동화집에 비해서 인물과 사건에 대한 서술이 확대되고 유래담적인 성격의 이야기가 많아지면서 어린이들의 상상력을 증대시키는데 일조를 하였다. 또한 사자성어와 속담을 적극적으로 사용하여 이야기와 말의 관계를 조화롭게 설명하였다. 근대의 새로운 가치관인 자본과 경제생활의 논리를 설명하는 방법으로 저축을 하여 부자가 되는 비법을 소개하여 아이들이 실생활에서 근면하고 성실하게 살아갈 것을 당부한다. 신문물에 대한 거부감과 신기함 호기심을 모두 수용하여 신문물이 지닌 편리함을 이해하기 쉽게 풀이해 주었다는데 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The Chosun fairy tales published by Chosun Colonial Government in 1924, The Chosun donghwajip, SimUi Rin in 1926, The Chosundonghwadaejip, and Pak Young Man in 1940 The Korean traditional donghwajip. SimUi Rin is review of Korea's first Botonghakgyo the Korean Hangul work as an educator who has created. Korean interest in his children's education and called for fairy tales commitment to The Chosundonghwadaejip was born. This book, created by the Japanese chongdokbu and person or event for the year to describe the nature of the talks, and the resulting children's imagination as to increase the number of help has helped. In addition, actively proverb stories and words describe the relationship of harmony. The new value of the capital, and economic conditions of modern life savings as a way to explain the logic of the secret of how to get rich by introducing the children to live in real life will be diligent and good faith. Using a new and better things and curiosity with all the convenience of things Western gave it easy to understand the significance.
