영화에서 소설로의 매체 전환 연구 - 『외출』의 경우 -

소설과 영화는 수용 미학적인 차원에서 끊임없이 매체 전이가 이뤄지고 있다. 이러한 작업은 예술의 경계 허물기를 넘어 상호텍스트성에 입각한 대중문화의 지평을 확장시킨다. 하지만 상이한 매체의 특성으로 인해 두 텍스트는 다른 양상으로 차별화된다. 따라서 본고에서는 텍스트의 매체 전환 과정에 따른 변별점을 살펴보는데 목적을 두었다. 『외출』은 ‘불륜’을 소재로 한 서사텍스트인 만큼 수용주체의 관점에 따라 다양한 해석이 가능하다. 두 텍스트의 서사적 추동력은 주어진 상황에 따른 인물의 심리 변화에 있다. 그런 만큼 텍스트의 시공간적인 빈 틈새를 서사적 채워 넣기를 통해 어떻게 재창조하냐에 따라 수사학적인 공감을 얻게 된다. 소설텍스트인 『외출』은 영화텍스트에서 보인 틈을 공감각적 이미지로 묘사하여 독자들의 상상력을 자극한다. 이것은 수용자로 하여금 주어진 상황에 따라 변모해가는 인물들의 심리 변화에 동일시되는 동인으로 작용한다. 특히 소설텍스트에서는 영화텍스트에 없는 에피소드를 추가하여 사건의 인과성과 서사적 개연성이 확보된다. 이 지점은 본 논문의 연구목적이 영화에서 소설로 전환되면서 서사적으로 어떤 양상을 드러내는지에 있는 만큼 이를 바탕으로 논의를 전개해 나갈 것이다.
Abstract
Interchange between novel and movie constantly occurs in aesthetic standpoint on receivers. This phenomenon expanded the province of a popular culture on mutual text. However, the two texts differentiated other aspects by specific of two different media. Consequently, this manuscript aims to examine a discrimination by media conversion process of the text. The movie 'April snow' can be interpreted in various ways by standpoint of the subject to receive, because it was narrative text based on 'adultery'. The narrative power of two texts was caused by psychological variation of a character at the given situation. For that reason, the text might won the rhetorical sympathy on how to renew through the filling spatiotemporal gap with narrative. 'April snow', as a text of the novel, stir up readers’s imagination, because it was described gap in a text of the movie by synesthetic image. Because of this, the receiver can be regarded in the same light with character's psychological variation depends on the situation. Especially, a text of the novel gets causality of events and narrative probability, adding the episode is not in a text of the movie. Therefore, the object of this study is to research changeable aspects of the narrative when converted movie to novel.
