Abstract
QT(Quantum Technology) is attracting attention as a game changer for the future battlefield, and military advanced countries are competitively promoting RMA(Revolution of Military Affair) using QT. This study aimed to evaluate the trend of RMA in QT and to derive implications for the Korean military. And the study applied the theory of RMA as a logical framework. As a result, most of the QT is expected to be commercialized within the next 20 years in technical aspect. In terms of device and system, military devices and systems using QT are expected to be developed or progressed in 11 fields, including quantum communication, quantum networks, quantum simulation, quantum optimization, quantum ML/AI, quantum cryptography decoding, quantum inertial navigation, quantum magnetometer, quantum radar, quantum clock, and quantum imaging. In terms of operational concept, new military capabilities made possible by QT are expected to develop into the concept of quantum warfare by domain or multi-domain. Finally, as an implication for the Korean military, the Korean military needs to focus on seven QTs that can contribute to the advancement of the three-axis system in consideration of the Korean environment.
