이 연구는 1930년대 만주국 특수회사 제도에 주목해서 만주국 공업화의 구조와 특질을 해명하였다. 만주국 특수회사 제도는 특별법, 국제조약, 정부명령으로 설립된 주식회사 형태의 특수법인이며, 실질적으로 만주국 정부가 소유와 경영을 지배하는 소수성·독점성·대규모성을 특징으로 하는 기업군이다. 특수회사 제도는 만주국 정부가 자본주의 사적 독점의 폐해를 회피하면서도 자본효과를 활용해서 고도 국방국가 건설 혹은 대동아공영권 이념을 만주국에서 실천하고자 하는 만주국의 건국이념을 표상하는 경제제도였다. 이 연구는 만주국 경제사 연구의 일환으로 특수회사 제도의 성립과 이념, 출자와 금융원천, 경영구조와 성과를 실증적으로 검토하였다. 1930년대 만주국 특수회사 제도는 헤게모니 주도형의 정부 기업 간 관계를 특징으로 하는 또 다른 식민지 공업화의 구조와 특질을 시사한다. 1930년대 만주국은 20세기 동아시아 후발국 공업화의 또다른 실험장이었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to figure out the structure and features of Manchurian industrialization, focusing on the special –purpose company system in the 1930s. The Manchurian special –purpose company refers to a special –purpose corporation established by special act, international treaty or government order. Its ownership and management were controlled by the Manchurian government, and had the following distinct characteristics: minority, exclusiveness and large scale. This special–purpose company system was an economic system which represented the founding ideology of Manchuria, in which Manchurian government constructed advanced national defense state or implemented the philosophy of Greater East Asia Co –Prosperity Sphere, by taking advantage of capital effects while avoiding the abuse of capitalist private monopoly. This study specifically reviewed the establishment and philosophy of the special –purpose company system, investment & financial origin and management structure & performances as a part of the study on economic study of Manchuria. With the features of hegemony –driven government –business relationship in the 1930s, the special–purpose company system implies the structure and characteristics of Manchurian industrialization. After all, Manchuria in the 1930s was another experimental spot of industrialization for late comers in East Asia in the 20th century.
