이 논문은 한미동맹이 추진하고 있는 핵-재래식 통합(CNI)의 전략적 구조와 기능을 분석하며, CNI가 지역 안보와 핵억제전략에 미치는 구체적인영향을 조명한다. 본 연구는 미국의 핵인식과 태세 변화에 따른 한미 양국간의 실질적인 군사적 협력강화 방안으로서 CNI 기획과 실행의 복잡성을검토하고, CNI가 한반도의 안보환경에 제공할 수 있는 기회와 도전 요인을분석한다. 또한 북한의 지속적이고 고도화되는 핵위협을 억제하고 대응하기 위한 한미 CNI의 실질적인 원칙과 과제는 무엇이며, 이러한 접근이 동북아 지역의 전략적 안정성을 어떻게 증진시킬 수 있는지를 제시한다. 아울러 CNI의 실행이 미래 지역안보 구조에 미칠 영향과 한미동맹이 나아가야 할 방향을 모색하였다.
Abstract
This paper analyzes the strategic structure and functions of ConventionalNuclear Integration (CNI) within the ROK-US alliance, highlighting the specific impacts of CNI on regional security and nuclear deterrence strategies. The study examines the complexities of implementing CNI as a means of enhancing military cooperation between the two countries in response to changes in US nuclear posture and perceptions, and analyzes the advantages and potential risks CNI could provide to the security environment on the Korean Peninsula. Additionally, it presents practical principles and challenges for strengthening deterrence against North Korea’s continuous and advancing nuclear threats through CNI, and analyzes how such an approach can enhance strategic stability in Northeast Asia. Furthermore, the paper explores the impacts of CNI implementation on future regional security structures and the direction the ROK-US alliance should take.
