Participants were 963 middle and high school students (male 453, female 510) in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi area. Questionnaires included peer acceptance, FQQ, SAS-A, SPAI-C, BDI, and academic performance. Data were analyzed by SPSS WIN 12.0 for t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: First, while only friendship quality varied according to gender, friendship quality, social anxiety and depression varied according to age. Second, social anxiety and depression varied according to peer acceptance. Also low friendship quality group showed highest social anxiety and depression. Low academic performance group showed higher depression than the other groups. Third, interest/approval, conflict resolution, trust, help, age, company, and social influence were signigicant predictors of social anxiety. Forth, trust, conflict resolution, negative nomination, academic performance, and age were significant predictors of depression.
