Abstract
Many workers of contemporary society often give up their own social life or leisure time because of the company affairs even on Sunday and holiday. Sometimes these situations may occur because of duty-related affairs such as the external situation, but some people cannot enjoy hours with their family, personal hobbies or leisure life, as they are always captivated by works due to their own internal pressure. This phenomenon brings about social problems. This research was carried out in order to draw the positive and negative results of workaholism on the turnover intention with the hotelier working at the hotel companies in korea as the subjects. After a close review on moderating effects of work-family balance, the variable that manages effect relationship between workaholism and turnover intention. As a result of the empirical analysis, the following results were drawn: First, the obsession, subordinate variables of workaholism was high among those who highly turnover intention, while low among those who highly perceived the sense of work enjoyment. Second, as a result of the workaholism, work-family balance functioned as a moderating variable, which could mitigate the negative turnover intention. Therefore, companies should make an effort to strengthen work-family balance of employees. As a result, it is found that workaholism does not have only negative effect in the personal and organizational aspects. That is to say, workaholism is not negative for companies that manage organizations but it can be used well as a means to increase efficiency of companies, if managed and adjusted well.
