후기 청소년 직업포부의 종단적 변화와 영향 요인

Longitudinal changes of late adolescents' job aspiration and the effect of individual and environmental variables

초록

본 연구에서는 한국고용정보원의 청년패널 2007 자료의 고등학생에서 대학생에 이르는 후기 청소년을 대상으로 6차년도 동안의 직업포부의 종단적 변화와 이에 영향을 미치는 개인 및 사회환경적 변인과의 관련성을 살펴보았다. 잠재성장모형 분석결과, 후기 청소년의 직업포부의 변화는 선형변화모형이 자료에 가장 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 청소년의 직업포부의 초기치(59.918)와 변화율(-.424)은 개인 간에 차이를 보이며 6차년도 동안 조금씩 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있었다. 또한 직업포부의 초기치와 변화율의 상관이 부적(-.590)으로 나타나, 시간이 흐름에 따라 초기에 직업포부가 높은 학생들은 낮은 학생보다 직업포부가 점점 빠르게 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 성, 사회경제적 지위, 학업성적 및 내․외적 직업가치가 직업포부의 변화에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 초기에는 남학생들이 여학생보다 직업포부의 수준이 높았으나 시간의 변화에 따라서 성은 영향을 미치지 않았다. 반면, 사회경제적 지위와 학업성적은 직업포부의 초기치에는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 시간이 지남에 따라 사회경제적 지위가 높을수록, 학업성적이 높을수록 직업포부가 덜 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 청소년의 내적 직업가치가 높을수록 직업포부의 초기치는 높았으나 시간의 변화에 따라서는 유의한 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 반면, 외적 직업가치는 직업포부의 초기치에는 영향을 미치지 않았으나 시간이 지남에 따라 외적 가치가 높을수록 직업포부 수준이 덜 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 진로 및 직업선택에 있어서 중요한 시기인 후기 청소년기의 직업포부의 변화와 개인 및 사회환경적 변인과의 관련성을 확인함으로써 청소년의 진로교육 및 진로상담에 대한 기초자료를 보다 풍부하게 제공해 줄 수 있을 것이다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점이 논의되었다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the longitudinal changes of late adolescents' job aspiration and estimate the effect of individual and environmental variables. To achieve the purpose, the data related to late adolescents from 2007(the first year survey) to 2012 (the sixth year survey) of Youth Panel 2007 collected by Korea Employment Information Service(KEIS) was analyzed by Latent Growth Model(LGM). The results are reported as follows. First, the linear change model fitted to materials. Especially, there is a difference among individuals between the intercept(59.918) and slope(-.424) of job aspiration, and the change of that was decreasing linear function for six years. More specifically speaking, there is a negative correlation(-.590) between the intercept and slope of job aspiration. the higher job aspiration in the first year, the lower change rate later on. Next, the effect of gender, socioeconomic status, academic achievement and work values on job aspiration was analyzed. Results showed that male students had higher levels of job aspiration than female students on starting point, but gender did not influence on the change of job aspiration level as time goes on. However, socioeconomic status and academic achievement had no significant effects on the initial value of job aspiration, but the higher socioeconomic status and academic achievement levels, the less lower job aspiration level as time goes on. Also, the higher intrinsic work values, the higher the initial value of job aspiration, but intrinsic work values did not influence on the change of job aspiration level as time goes on. However, extrinsic work values had no significant effects on the initial value of job aspiration, but the higher extrinsic work values levels, the less lower job aspiration level as time goes on. The findings of this study can enrich future research into career counseling and education of late adolescents. Both the implications and limitations of this study were also discussed, along with suggestions for future research.
