성별에 따른 유형별 공격성과 전통적 괴롭힘 및 사이버 괴롭힘 가해의 관계

본 연구는 최근에 주목을 받고 있는 사이버 괴롭힘을 전통적 괴롭힘과 성별에 따른 유형별 공격성과의 관계에서 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 수도권에 소재한 초, 중, 고등학생 1,165명의 설문결과를 분석하였으며 교차분석, 상관분석, 평균차이검증 및 일련의 회귀분석을 통해 성별에 따른 유형별 공격성과 전통적 괴롭힘 및 사이버 괴롭힘의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면 먼저 전통적 괴롭힘의 가해 비율이 사이버 괴롭힘의 가해 비율에 비해 높은 것으로 확인되었으며 2가지 형태의 괴롭힘이 중복하여 일어나는 비율이 전체 학생의 10.8%에 이르는 것으로 나타났다. 괴롭힘의 유형에 상관없이 남학생의 가해 비율이 여학생에 비해 높았으며, 공격성의 하위유형 모두에서 남학생의 공격성향이 여학생에 비해 유의미하게 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 성별에 따른 유형별 공격성, 전통적 괴롭힘 및 사이버 괴롭힘의 관계를 살펴본 결과 전통적 괴롭힘의 경우 남학생은 신체와 언어적 공격성이, 여학생은 언어와 관계적 공격성이 전통적 괴롭힘과 상관이 높았다. 반면 사이버 괴롭힘의 경우 남학생은 관계적 공격성이, 여학생은 언어 및 관계적 공격성이 사이버 괴롭힘과 상관이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 공격성이 사이버 괴롭힘에 미치는 영향에서 전통적 괴롭힘의 매개효과를 파악한 결과 남학생의 경우에는 공격성의 모든 유형에서 완전매개효과가 나타났으며 여학생의 경우에는 공격성의 모든 유형에서 부분매개 효과가 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 상담 및 교육적 중재에 적용될 수 있는 시사점 및 후속연구를 위한 제언을 제시하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations of traditional bullying, cyberbullying and types of aggression in terms of gender. 1165 participants from elementary, middle and high schools completed the survey and it was analyzed by the methods of cross-tabs, correlations, t-test and a series of multiple regression, thereby revealing the relations of traditional bullying, cyberbullying and types of aggression in terms of gender. The results are as the following. Traditional bullying showed higher frequency than cyberbullying and the co-occurrence ratio of the two types of bullying was 10.8% out of the total participants. Regardless of the types of bullying, male students showed higher frequency than female students, and male students also showed higher level of aggression in the three types: physical, verbal, and relational. As for the traditional bullying, male students showed higher correlations with physical and verbal aggression, while female students showed higher correlations with verbal and relational aggression. Regarding the cyberbullying, male students showed higher correlations with relational aggression, while female students showed higher correlations with verbal and relational aggression. The mediation analysis yielded that traditional bullying was identified as a mediator between three types of aggression and cyberbullying. In particular, the traditional bullying was identified as a complete mediator for male students, whereas a partial mediator for female students. Based on the results, implications for effective counseling, educational interventions and future studies were suggested.
