양명의 성범일체관(聖凡一體觀) 연구

Abstract

From childhood, Yangming had a great ambition to become an saint through learning, and this aspiration has been consistently practiced through specific studies that have been unfolded later. Yangming's view of saint was born under the background of the mid-Ming Dynasty, which was a continuation of political, economic and ideological turmoil. At that time, the trend of emphasizing individual subjectivity dominated all areas of society, including culture and academics. During this period, Yangming established his own Xinxue(心學). based on this, promoted equalization of academics and secularization of academic dissemination through active scholarship activities. Through this process, Yangming came to suggest an innovative view of saint that'everyone can become an saint' through learning, because'saint and ordinary people are essentially the same'. Yangming's view of the saint was spread rapidly through the scholarship activities of the younger students at that time as well as afterwards, and this caused a great social repercussion. The topics covered in the thesis include academic goal of becoming saint, the reason why saint become saint, the possibility that everyone can become saint, and specific study methods to become saint.
