본 연구는 『격몽요결』의 ‘함영(涵泳)’ 개념을 도덕과 교육의 고전 공부와 연계하여 도덕적 성찰의 일상성과 실천성에 관한 교육적 의의를 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 도덕과 교육과정에서 역점을 두고 있는 고전 공부의 교육 목표는 고전 공부를 통해 학생들이 도덕적 성찰과 실천을 위한 생활 태도를 형성하는 것에 있다. 그리고 이것은 『격몽요결』에서 강조하는 독서를 통한 함영의 공부 목적과 의미의 맥락을 같이한다. 다시 말해, 율곡은 지식의 습득을 위한 공부를 넘어 일상에서 이루어지는 도덕적 성찰의 실천성에 관한 의미의 중요성을 ‘함영’의 공부를 통해 말한다. 생활 속에서 이루어지는 고전 읽기의 독서는 자신을 변화시켜 나아가는 동기의 목적성을 전제해야 하고, 이러한 자기 변화의 동기성은 스스로의 의지와 노력으로 이루어지는 반복적인 성찰의 학습과정을 갖는다는 것을 율곡은 학문하기의 공부 방법을 통해 설명한다. 이와 같이 『격몽요결』을 통해 율곡이 강조하는 ‘함영’의 공부는 독서를 통해 이루어지는 도덕적 성찰의 일상성에 관한 의미를 갖는다. 또한 이것은 실천적 행위의 준거를 스스로 마련하고, 기틀을 다지기 위한 반복적 학습의 동기성을 강화시켜 나아가기 위한 자기성찰의 공부법이 된다. 나아가 율곡은 일상에서 자발적으로 이루어지는 고전 읽기의 독서를 통한 학문하기의 과정이 스스로를 변화하도록 만드는 지속적인 동기성을 확보하기 위해서는 고전 공부가 항상 “어떻게 실천할 것인가”에 대한 물음을 함께 견지한 상태로 이루어져야 함을 ‘함영’의 교육방법을 통해 강조한다. 그러므로 『격몽요결』의 ‘함영’을 통해 도덕과 교육의 고전 교육에 대한 도덕적 성찰의 일상성과 그 실천성에 관한 교육적 의의를 고찰하는 것은 『격몽요결』의 ‘함영’ 공부가 갖는 도덕과 교육과정의 의의를 규명하는 것이 된다. 동시에 이것은 일상에서 이루어지는 도덕적 자기성찰에 관한 의미의 중요성을 ‘함영’의 공부 방법과 연계하여 그 의의를 규명하는 내용이 된다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the educational significance of the everyday and practical aspects of moral reflection by linking the concept of “Hamyoung(涵泳)” in 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 to the study of classical texts in moral subjects education. The educational goal of classical texts, which is emphasized in Moral Subject Education Curriculum, is for students to develop a lifestyle attitude for moral reflection and practice through classical texts. This also shares the purpose and meaning of studying “Hamyoung” through reading, which is emphasized in 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』. In other words, through the study of “Hamyoung” in 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 emphasizes the importance of the practical significance of moral reflection in everyday life, going beyond studying for the sake of acquiring knowledge. Reading classical texts in everyday life must be premised on the purposeful motivation of self-transformation, and 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 explains through academic study methods that the synchronization of such self-transformation involves a repetitive learning process of reflection that is based on one’s own will and effort. In this way, the study of “Hamyeong” emphasized by Yulgok(栗谷) in 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 has significance regarding the everyday aspects of moral reflection through reading. This is also a self-reflective study method that prepares oneself for practical action and strengthens the synchronicity of repetitive learning to solidify one’s knowledge. Furthermore, through the “Hamyoung” educational method, Yulgok(栗谷) emphasizes that in order to ensure the continuous synchronicity of self-transformation through the voluntary daily reading of classics, classical study must always be accompanied by the question, “How do I put it into practice?” Therefore, examining the everyday nature of moral reflection in classical education and its practicality through the “Hamyoung” of 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 clarifies the significance of Moral Subject Education Curriculum of the “Hamyoung” study of 『Gyeokmongyogyeol』 . At the same time, this content explores the significance of the significance of everyday moral magnetic reflection in conjunction with the “Hamyoung” study method.
