2015 개정 중학교 역사 교과서의 고려시대사 서술 분석

Abstract

Since March 2020, the six middle school history textbooks, that have been written in accordance with the 2015 revised curriculum and passed the testing process, have been used in the frontline education sites. This places the focus on correlating Korea and the world’s history for understanding as well as understanding that various regions have developed by relations with one another. Moreover, it is composed of premodern-oriented contents to allow understanding the flow of the overall era through political history up until the first half of the 19th century, while simply organizing the contents focused on democracy or capitalism for the modern and present age. The present study took the Koryo Dynasty section of the middle school history textbooks to see how the current curriculum changed from the 2009 revised curriculum and examined the differences in descriptions between the textbooks. First, when reviewing the curriculum goal and system of content as announced by the Ministry of Education, measures were taken to divide from the political history to set as a single section in order to emphasize the ‘foreign relations of Koryo.’ However, the actual description is almost identical to the previous one and interestingly, parts of the textbooks mentioned pluralistic international order(Multi-state System). Next, the ‘life and culture of Koryo’ displays the most visible changes in the practical aspects with changes to table of contents and main text. While the text regarding life history such as the family systems were newly added, the existing content on cultural history has been reduced and it can be found that adjustments have been made as considerable variations can be found in each textbook.
