지유샤판 중학교 교과서에 나타난 근현대 역사상 분석 - 전쟁 관련 사진자료를 중심으로 -

Abstract

This article analyzes character of modern history description related to wars in junior high school history textbook published by Jiyushya, which had passed official approval in the 9th of April, 2009. The textbook is revision of junior high school history textbook published by Fusoshya in 2001 and 2005, which was written and edited by Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform. The differences between book of Fusoshya and Jiyushya are mainly viewed on changing illustration and photograph that present for supplementing materials and complementing explanations of materials. Based on the above, the article arguesin the point of differences by using the photograph related to wars among the supplementing materials in two textbooks. In the contents, the article is divided by two parts. First, the study analyzes modern history images viewed on the path of forming the Japanese imperialism in the textbook. As a result, it was approved that the book showed the way to the strong Japan imperial by presenting photograph material, like Yamato battleship, Ding Yuan battleship, battleship Mikasa, American battleship, B-29 and so on. However, these images produced by photograph material just appear Japan empire’s win or lose situation but cannot indicate an aggressive personality to Asian countries which is intended in the wars. Second, the study analyzes each description of wars which were happened in Japanese modern history, such as Sino-Japanese War(1894), Russo-Japanese War, Pacific War. In comparison of old version, we can confirm that the new textbook eliminate or add such photograph and change the tone of narration. As a result, study was also revealed that renewal arrangement of new textbook aim to get the strategic effect which would emphasize the superiority to other Asian civilization and hide the aggressive personality in the wars.
