Abstract

This article emphasizes that mourning of sadness and pain arising from the loss of attachment objects is the power to newly construct our lives, and that we can support our lives through that power. In addition, he emphasized that in order to obtain such power, understanding of others must be premised, and that self-understanding and world understanding can be sought through understanding of others. Accordingly, this article focuses on self-reflection and discusses the loss of attachment objects in fairy tale works, the mourning of the sadness and pain of the character, and the aspect of child readers' understanding and interpretation of the character's mourning. The loss of the object of attachment represented in the fairy tale was analyzed through human death, animal death, and separation. Through these discussions, it was emphasized that the understanding of the sorrow and pain of a child reader who lost the object of attachment ultimately constitutes a new identity as a narrative existence.
