무역경로를 통한 재정정책의 국제파급효과: 3국가 DSGE 모형 접근법

초록

본 논문은 동북아시아지역에서 한국과 일본을 중심으로 인접국간의 무역 경로 를 통한 재정 정책의 국제파급효과에 대하여 연구하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한국 과 일본 간의 무역비중과 보상무역 (production sharing)을 고려할 때 각국의 본 국내 경제정책이 상대국에 국제파급되는 경로를 분석한다. 이를 위하여, 한국과 일본 그리고 그 외 세계(rest of the World)로 구분되는 3국가 DSGE 모형을 이용 한다. 캘리브레이션 방식으로 추정된 모형에 근거하여 확장적 정부지출과 소비세 율 인상 정책의 모의실험을 시행하고 재정 정책 도구별 정책충격 반응을 조사한 결과, 한국과 일본의 재정정책의 국제파급효과가 나타나는 것으로 분석된다. 양 국의 교역규모와 보상무역 관계가 감소된다면 이러한 효과는 약해질 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze international effects of fiscal policies of the closely related open economies, which are heterogeneous in their economic scales, bilateral trade shares, production sharing and the openness. For this purpose, I modified the New Keynesian multi-country model to incorporate the two East Asian countries (Korea, Japan), and the rest of the world. Based on the calibrated DSGE model, the scenarios of fiscal impacts on domestic and foreign economies are simulated. According to im pulse responses of the results, fiscal policies are found to be effective to the domestic economy when diversified fiscal instruments of the public spending and tax rise hit the economy temporarily. International spillover effects of fiscal policies seem to be considerable in both countries although responses of Korean economy to Japanese fiscal policy shocks are bigger than those of Japan to the counterpart.
