한일관계의 정상화가 양국 산업에 미치는 영향 고찰

최근 한일 양국은 지난 10여 년 거듭했던 갈등과 반목에서 벗어나 빠르게 관계를 정상화하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 변화에 맞춰 양국 관계가 각국의 경제와 산업에 미치는 영향을 실증분석을 통해 알아보았다. 특히, 양국의 상호 의존 및 보완 산업연관구조에 초점을 두고 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 크게 세 가지로 정리할 수 있는데 첫째, 2000년부터 2020년까지 20년 동안 한일 양국 제조업의 공급과 분배 구조는 상호 의존관계가 더욱 긴밀해졌다. 그리고 일본에서 한국으로의 일방향 구조에서 양국이 서로 의존하는 쌍방향 구조로 전환하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이는 한일 양국이 상호 의존하는 보완관계로 발전하고 있으며, 양국 관계의 변화가 양국의 산업 생산과 부가가치에 직접 영향을 줄 수 있음을 의미한다. 둘째, 양국 관계의 확대 및 강화는 양국 경제 및 산업에 양(+) 파급효과를 유발하였다. 특히, 한국과 일본의 수출 주력 제조업에서 그 효과가 뚜렷하였다. 셋째, 양국 제조업의 분업구조는 경제, 산업은 물론 기업의 부가가치(이익) 창출에 기여하였다. 이는 한일관계 정상화가 기업을 거쳐 내수시장과 국내경기에 미치는 영향이 존재함으로 알 수 있다.
Abstract
Recently, Korea and Japan are quickly normalizing their relations, breaking away from the conflicts and animosity that have persisted over the past 10 years. In line with these changes, this study investigated the impact of the bilateral relationship on each country's economy and industry through empirical analysis. In particular, the analysis focused on the interdependence and complementary industrial linkage structures of the two countries. The results of the analysis can be broadly summarized into three points. First, from 2000 to 2020, the supply and distribution structure of the manufacturing industry in Korea and Japan has become more interdependent. And it was confirmed that there was a transition from a one-way structure from Japan to Korea to a two-way structure in which both countries depend on each other. Second, the expansion and strengthening of the relationship between the two countries caused a positive ripple effect on the economies and industries of the two countries. In particular, the effect was evident in the export-oriented manufacturing industries of Korea and Japan. Third, the strong structure in the manufacturing industries of both countries contributed to the creation of added value (profit) not only for the economy and industry, but also for companies. This can be seen from the fact that the normalization of Korea-Japan relations has an impact on the domestic market and the domestic economy through companies.
