한국의 지방자치단체는 외국인 직접투자를 유치하기 위해, 그 지역에 LG, 삼성, 대우 등 한국의 대기업이 위치하고 있는 것을 적극적으로 홍보하고 있다. 그러나 지금까지 FDI 결정요인에 대한 분석으로는 한국의 대기업이 세계시장에서 점유율이 높은 산업으로 FDI가 유입되는 것을 설명할 수 없다. 한국의 산업별 FDI 결정요인의 모형에서는 대기업의 역할을 반영하기 위해 산업집중도란 대변수를 사용하고, 실증분석에서는 산업별 통합자료(pooling data)를 이용하였다. 추정모형에서는 통제변수에 따라 약간의 차이가 있지만, 산업집중도가 통계적으로 유의적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
Korea's municipalities are actively advertising the existence of large corporations such as LG, Samsung, and Daewoo situated in the area, in order to secure direct foreign investments. However, the analysis so far on the factors of FDI decisions can not explain the influx of FDI, where Korean large corporations have a large market share in the world market. In the model of Korean industries' FDI decision factor, the industry concentration variable was used to reflect the role of large corporations, and in the empirical analysis, the industries' pooling data was used. There is a slight difference in the assumption model due to control variables, but statistics show that industry concentration have statistically significant impacts.
