고려시대의 敎書는 중국 당나라의 王言 중에 論事勅書에서 그 기원을 가지고 있다. 論事勅書는 신하를 慰諭하거나 戒約[誡約]하는데 사용한 王言이었다. 이 論事勅書는 宋나라의 命令 속에서 詔書의 양식으로 흡수되었다. 이러한 송나라의 詔書 양식이 고려에 들어와 고려의 제도와 부합되면서 고려시대 敎書의 樣式이 탄생하였다. 고려는 忠烈王 이전까지는 중국의 양식과 고려의 양식이 혼용된 문서 양식 을 보여 주었다. 이러한 양식의 교서 는 崔瀣의 『東人之文四六』 권6「敎書」에 4편이 실려 있다. 고려중기의 양식을 대변하는 이들 奬論敎書는 頭詞는 敎某로 되어 있어 고려에 맞게 변화하였지만 尾詞는 여전히 故?詔示 想宜知悉로 되어 있어 宋의 양식임을 알 수 있다 곧 고려중기의 奬論敎書는 고려의 제도 〔敎〕와 송의 제도〔詔〕가 혼합되어 있다. 고려중기의 장유교서 양식은 고려후기에 오면 다시 한번 변화한다. 이 시기에는 다행히 奬論敎書의 양식을 가진 1360년(恭感王9)년에 작성된 鄭光道 敎書가 실물로 남아 있어 이를 실증할 수 있었다. 정광도 교서에서 나타나는 고려후기의 奬論敎書 양식은 고려중기의 양식에서 다시 한번 변화를 겪었다. 곧 頭詞는 고려중기와 동일하게 敎某이지만 尾詞는 ‘故?詔示 想宜知悉’로 변화하였다. 이러한 양식의 변화는 忠烈王 때 시작된 元의 내정 간섭 때문으로 파악하였다.
Abstract
Royal edict(敎書) of the Koryo period was originated in Non-sa-chik-seo(論事勅書) used for admonishing Majesty's lieges in the Tang(唐) period. The Tang's Non-sa-chik-seo was absorbed to Royal rescript(詔書) of the Song(宋). Then this Royal rescript's style had influence on style of Koryo's Royal edict(敎書). Before King Chung-Ryeol(忠烈王) period the style of Koryo's Royal edict had China and Koryo's mixed characteristics. We can see the existing example. However it is not a original document, but a copied one rewritten by someone in King In-Jong(仁宗) period. In this period Koryo's Jang-yu-gyo-seo(奘諭敎書) had mixed form of Koryo's Gyo(敎) and Song's Zhao(詔). In the late of the Koryo period the style of Koryo's Jang-yu-gyo-seo was changed again. Fortunately we can see the original document written to Jeong-Gwang-Do(鄭光道) in 1360, named “Jeong-Gwang-Do-Gyo-Seo(鄭光道敎書)”. The head and bottom of Jeong-Gwang-Do-Gyo-Seo was different from the before period, therefore we can find the Koryo's unique style. I think the changing was due to the Yuan(元)'s intervention.
