장서각 소장 복식관련 일본서의 현황 및 가치 -[면복도첩]을 중심으로-

Abstract

Currently, There are 1207 Japanese books in Jangseogak archives. Before they were transferred to Jangseogak archives in the year 1981, they have been kept by the Cultural Heritage Administration Bureau, and before that, it had been kept in the Library of Royal family of Lee as a Royal Literature. Among them, materials related to costumes count to 8 in total including Myunbokdochup(冕服圖帖)),Jangsokdosik(裝束圖式),Yebokdo(禮服圖), Yeokwanjangsokjikmundohwei(女官裝束織文圖繪), Jangsokjikmundohwei(裝束織文圖會), Boksaekdohae(服色圖解), Jikmundohwei(織文圖繪) and Jikmundogam(織文圖鑒). As all of those materials are recording old rules or conventions on ritual, law, method of manufacturing, costumes, those materials are highly important to Japanese costume research considering that they are dealing with precedented rules of Samurai Society, especially at the end of such generation. Even with their academic importance, those materials’ status and values haven’t been introduced to academia properly yet. The main reason for this gap might have come from the lack of accessibility on those materials. That being said, the purpose of this research lies in introducing the Costume-related Japanese books in jangseogak archives and uncovering their value so to enlarge the horizon of research related to the costumes. However, since the project scope of this fundamental research is limited to reporting the existence of those costume-related Japanese books, I expect more profound discussion on the materials to follow.
