경기 김포시의 이민자 사회통합에 대한 연구

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the current status of immigrant social integration and related policies in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province, and provide basic data to promote the social integration of immigrants. The number of foreign nationals and overseas Koreans in Gimpo City has been on an increasing trend from 2011 to 2022, particularly with a high proportion of non-professional employment (E-9) visa holders and marriage immigrants (F-6). The main countries of origin for foreign residents include Korean-Chinese, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Nepal, and the most common age group is late 20s to early 30s. Gimpo City has established various policy foundations for the social integration of foreign residents, including ordinances and administrative support systems for foreign residents and multicultural families. In particular, the city promotes mutual understanding between Koreans and foreigners through cultural exchange programs such as the 'Multicultural Family Supporters' and the 'ASEAN Film Festival.' Various projects are also underway, such as Korean language education and interpretation services for marriage immigrants and children of multicultural families. This study emphasizes the need for Gimpo City to continue implementing effective policies for immigrant integration and suggests future improvement measures.
