강뉴대대 불패신화의 원인에 관한 연구

연구는 에티오피아의 6·25전쟁 참전부대인 강뉴대대의 놀라운 전투 결과인 ‘253전253승, 불패신화’의 원인을 분석하는 데 목적을 두었다. 연구는 전투와 전투력, 무형전투력과 정신전력 등에 관한 이론적 고찰로 단계적 분석의 틀을 설정하였다. 분석한 결과는 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 강뉴대대와 유사한 여건에서 전투를 수행한 다른유엔 참전국의 부대와 비교할 때, 강뉴대대의 전투 결과는 월등함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 강뉴대대의 유형전투력과 무형전투력(기술전력과 운용전력)은 전투 결과에 유의미한영향을 미치지 않았다. 셋째, 강뉴대대의 무형전투력(정신전력)이 강뉴대대 불패신화의원인임을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to analyze the cause of ‘253 victories in 253 wars, the undefeated myth’, which is the result of the remarkable battle of the Gagnew Battalion, Ethiopia's Korean War unit. The study established a framework for step-by-step analysis with theoretical considerations on combat and combat power, intangible combat power, and mental power. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, it was found that the combat results of the Kagnew Battalion were superior compared to the units of other UN veterans who fought under similar conditions to the Kagnew Battalion. Second, the tangible and intangible combat power (technical and operational power) of the Kagnew Battalion did not significantly affect the combat results. Third, it was found that the intangible combat power (mental power) of the Kagnew Battalion was the cause of the undefeated myth of the Kagnew Battalion.
