본 연구의 목적은 심리검사 도구를 성경적 관점에서 이해하고, 성경적 상담의 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 방안을 제시하는 데 있다. 일반적으로 심리검사는 상담 초기 단계에서 내담자의 정서, 인지, 성격 특성 등을 객관적으로 파악할 수 있는 의미 있는 정보들을 제공하며 진단과 개입 전략을 수립하는데 유용하게 활용된다. 그러나 기존 심리검사 도구들은 세속주의적 사고 방식과 통계적 분석을 바탕으로 개발되어서 검사에 사용되는 용어와 진단의 의미가 성경이 제시하는 인간 존재의 영적 차원이나 인간에 대한 이해를 충분히 담아내지 못하는 근본적인 한계를 지닌다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 Powlison이 소개한 성경적 변화 모델과 X-ray 질문 기법을 접목하여, 심리검사 결과를 성경적 관점에서 재해석하고 적용하는 실제적 사례를 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법으로는 실제 상담장면에서 MMPI-2와 문장완성검사를 실시한 내담자의 보고를 중심으로 내면의 동기와 신앙의 왜곡된 측면을 해석하였다. 이러한 결과는 하나님과의 관계 회복을 통해 실제적인 변화가 가능함을 제시하여 심리검사가 성경적 상담의 실천 현장에서 신앙적이고 영적인 통찰을 촉진하는 도구로서 의미 있게 활용될 수 있음을 제안한다. 특히, 본 연구는 심리검사를 성경적 관점에서 재해석하여 성경적 상담과 심리 진단의 실천적 가능성을 제시한다.
Abstract
The primary objective of this study is to provide a framework for understanding psychological assessment tools from a biblical perspective and to identify practical applications for biblical counseling. In general, psychological assessments offer valuable insights into a client's emotional, cognitive, and personality characteristics during the initial stages of counseling, helping to inform diagnosis and develop effective intervention strategies. However, existing psychological assessment tools, developed with a secular mindset and statistical analysis in mind, have a fundamental flaw in that they fail to fully capture the spiritual dimension of human existence and the nuances of human understanding as presented in the Bible. This study aims to provide a practical example of reinterpreting and applying psychological test results from a biblical perspective by integrating Powlison's biblical change model and the X-ray question technique to overcome the limitations of existing approaches. Through the research method, the distorted aspects of internal motivation and faith were interpreted based on the client's reports from actual counseling sessions, where MMPI-2 and sentence completion tests were administered. These findings suggest that actual change is possible through the restoration of relationships with God, and they propose that psychological testing can be a valuable tool in facilitating spiritual and spiritual insights in the practice of biblical counseling.
