황진이가 쓴 한시 「상사몽」이 김소월의 작품에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지를 밝히는 것이 본 논문의 목적이다. 김소월이 「상사몽」을 읽고 영감을 얻어서 창작한 대표적인 작품이 「진달래꽃」이며, 「진달래꽃」을 텍스트로 삼아 창작한 시가 「가는길」과 「朔州龜城」, 「山」이라는 것이 필자의 첫 번째 가설이며, 김억의 한역 시집 『옥잠화』(1949)에 수록된 「꿈」이 김소월이 번역한 작품이라는 것이 두 번째 가설이다. 『꽃다발』(1944)에 수록된 「꿈」은 탁월한 번역과 오역이 뒤섞였다는 점에서 문제적인 번역 작품이다. 이 작품을, 『옥잠화』(1949)에 수록된 「꿈」과 비교해보면, 김억이 다른 사람이 번역한 작품의 1행 후반부와 2행을 수정해서 『꽃다발』(1944)에 수록했고, 『옥잠화』(1949)에 수록할 때는 수정을 거의 하지 않은 채로 수록한 것이라는 사실을 알 수 있다. 황진이의 「상사몽」을 번역한 사람은 김소월이며 번역한 시기는 1921년경으로 추정할 수 있다. 필자가 앞선 논문에서 밝혔듯이 김억이 번역한 것으로 알려져 있는 「동심초」의 실제 번역자는 김소월이다. 원시와 번역 시가 시어나 문장의 층위에서 1:1 대응을 하지 않는 것과 화자의 발화상황을 알 수 있는 자연스러운 구어체 독백으로 번역하는 것이 김소월 번역의 특징인데, 이러한 특징을 「꿈」에서도 찾을 수 있다. 시인의 의도를 살려 독자의 공감을 얻는, 차원이 다른 번역을 할 수 있는 시인은 김소월을 제외하고 찾아보기 어렵다는 점도 중요한 근거이다. 김소월은 「상사몽」을 번역하며 이 시로부터 영감을 얻어서 「꿈길」 계열의 시와 「진달래꽃」, 「가는길」 등의 작품을 창작했다. 「꿈길」 계열의 시는 「상사몽」의 내용을 변형해서 창작한 시로 작품의 완성도가 높지 않지만, 「진달래꽃」과 「가는길」 등의 작품에서는 이별을 형상화하는 방법을 찾아냄으로써 작품의 완성도를 높일 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to reveal how Hwang Jin-yi's Sino-Korean poem ‘Sangsa-mong’ had an effect on Kim So-wol's work. ‘Azalea Flower’ is a representative work Kim So-wol created after reading ‘Sangsa-mong’ and was inspired by it. is the first hypothesis, and the second hypothesis is that ‘Dream’, which is included in Kim Eok's Chinese translation “Daylily Flower” (1949), is a work translated by Kim So-wol. ‘Dream’, which is included in “Bouquet”(1944), is a problematic translation work in that excellent translation and mistranslation are mixed. Comparing this work with ‘Dream’ in “Daylily” (1949), Kim Eok modified the second half of the first line and the second line of the work translated by others and included it in “Bouquet” (1944), “Daylily” (1949), it can be seen that it was recorded with little modification. The person who translated Hwang Jin-yi's ‘Sangsa-mong’ was Kim So-wol, and the time of translation can be assumed to be around 1921. As the author revealed in the previous paper, the actual translator of ‘Dongsimcho’, which is known to have been translated by Kim Eok, is Kim So-wol. The characteristics of Kim, Sowol's translation are that there is no 1:1 correspondence between original and translated poems at the level of poetic language or sentence, and that the translation is made into a natural colloquial monologue that allows the speaker's speech situation to be known. These characteristics can also be found in ‘Dream’. It is also an important basis that it is difficult to find a poet who can make use of the poet's intention and achieve a different level of translation to gain sympathy from readers, except Kim, Sowol. Kim, Sowol translated ‘Sangsa-mong’ and created works such as ‘Dream Road’ series of poems, ‘Azalea Flower’, and ‘The Way to Go’ inspired by this poem. Poems in the series of ‘Dream Road’ are poems created by transforming the contents of ‘Sangsamong’, and the level of completion of the work is not high. But in works such as ‘Azalea Flower’ and ‘’The Way to Go’, the perfection of the work could be improved by finding a way to embody the parting.could raise.
