내기골프의 윤리성 검토를 위한 동일성 논변

이 연구에서는 내기골프가 내기와 도박의 경계를 가르는 금액의 규모를 떠나 동일성 논변을 통해 윤리적 행동인지 아닌지를 검토하고자 했다. 또한 골프에 있어서 내기가 일반적으로 납득이 갈만한 수준의 것이라면 오히려 재미를 배가하고 골프의 매력으로 작용한다는 논변이 과연 그들의 주장처럼 긍정적으로 검토되어야 할 것인지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 내기골프에 참가하여 승리하였을 때 발생하는 ‘금전적 이득’으로 인한 결과와 ‘승리 자체의 기쁨’으로 인한 결과가 동일한 것으로 판단, 두 요소의 인과성을 검토하여 물리적 속성의 ‘인과적 배제의 원리(the principle of causal exclusion)’에 의해 스포츠가 본질적으로 내포해야할 경기 자체가 주는 가치와 재미는 배제되고 내기로 인한 금전적 이득을 위한 참가동기가 내기골프에 참가하는 주목적이 된다는 것을 밝혔다. 따라서 내기골프는 골프의 재미를 더하는 긍정적인 방법이라는 주장은 사회적 맥락에서 본다면 일부 타당한 것처럼 들리지만, 동일성의 엄밀한 판단에서 본다면 아무런 합리성을 확보하지 못하는 주장으로 내기골프는 스포츠 자체의 가치를 좀 먹는 행위로 규정되어야 할 것이다. 다시 말해 누구나 참가할 수 있는 고스톱과 같은 오락성 도박은 일반적으로 허용된 범주이니, 골프장에서 하는 소액의 내기 또한 허용된 범주로 보아야 한다는 주장은 자기합리화(self-justification)를 위한 단편적 발상일 가능성이 높고, 내기골프에 참가하는 동기와 결과 또한 스포츠에 본질적으로 반하는 행동이므로 스포츠의 가치를 온전히 유지하기 위해 배제되어야할 행동이라는 것이다.
Abstract
This study is to review whether the betting golf is an ethical behavior or not, apart from the amount of money by which betting or gambling is decided. Some have argue that the golf betting rather doubles pleasure and serves the attractions of golf if it might be understandable amount, so it also examines to decide whether the claim shall have practical review. As the finding from the review, the results by 'pecuniary gains' are judged to be the same as the 'pleasure of win itself', so examining the casualty between two factors through the principle of casual exclusion of physical attributes, the fact is found out that merits and delight the game itself gives are excluded, instead the financial profit by betting becomes motives for participating in betting golfs. Consequently, although the claim that betting golf is a positive way to increase the pleasure of games appears to be partially reasonable from the point of social context, it does not have any rationality in case analyzing from the rigid judgement of the identity. The betting golf, thus, shall be thought as behaviors to spoil the value of sports. In other words, the arguments, in which the betting of small amount in a green shall be considered to be allowable like amusemental gambling anyone can join in, for example Go-stop, Korean card playing, have high possibility to be a fragmentary opinion for self-justification, and the betting shall be eliminated from the game for maintaining the sound merit of sports based on the fact motives for participating in betting golf and its results are behaviors contrary to the nature of sports.
