초록
This paper aims at presenting the classifi cation of semantic cases, especially the system of adverbial case makers in Korean language for foreign language education. The adverbial cases in Korean are classifi ed with semantic relations. The merit of this methods which are based on semantic relations is that it is revealed various kinds of functions and meanings of adverbial cases. The main problems of classifi cations of adverbial cases with semantic relations are that they assume different names and sub-categories of adverbial case for the same semantic relations. This paper, therefore, argues that adverbial cases needs to be classifi ed morphologically, followed by the functions and meanings based on semantic relations, in order to fi x the system of adverbial cases in Korean, finally. We can group the adverbial cases by morphological and semantic relations in Korean. First group, which is based on ‘-e’, includes static locative, dative, allative, emphasis, and succession; while second group, which is based on ‘-eseo’, includes dynamic locative, source, ablative, and emphasis; the last group, which is based on ‘-(eu)lo’, includes translative, function, and instrumental.
