초록

This study explores whether female Chinese employees have different perceptions of subsidiary Korean companies’ organizational culture than male employees do, and whether female and male employees have different levels of job performance and job satisfaction. The study’s measurement of organizational culture was based on Denison’s four traits of organizational cultures: involvement, consistency, adaptability, and mission. A survey of Chinese employees was conducted in China during the summer of 2016. The 372 usable responses were analyzed with hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results revealed no gender differences in employee perceptions but evidenced that Chinese employees strongly perceived a company’s four cultural traits—involvement, consistency, adaptability, and mission—and indicated that these characteristics were positively related to employees’ job performance toward organizations as well as employees’ satisfaction. Organizational culture based on Denison’s four traits was found to be measurable and to be related to important organizational outcomes; however, interpretation of the results should be limited to study population and Korean companies.

Abstract

The study’s measurement of organizational culture was based on Denison’s four traits of organizational cultures: involvement, consistency, adaptability, and mission. Organizational culture based on Denison’s four traits was found to be measurable and to be related to important organizational outcomes; however, interpretation of the results should be limited to study population and Korean companies.
