Abstract
This thesis examines the outline of the Wonjeopsahaeng(遠接使行) conducted in 1572 to welcome the Ming(明) envoys, and discusses the various aspects of the 『Dongsarok(東槎錄)』, which is a collection of poems exchanged between Joseon envoys during the mission. 『Dongsajip(東槎集)』 is a collection of poems exchanged between Joseon envoys to welcome the Ming envoys. It was compiled in the context of the reception of Ming envoys in the early Joseon Dynasty. It formed a literary tradition different from 『Hwanghwajip(皇華集)』, a collection of poems exchanged between Ming and Joseon envoys, and was continuously produced throughout the 16th and 17th centuries. Among the many 『Dongsajip』 compiled during the period, this thesis focused on 『Dongsarok』 produced in 1572’s Wonjeopsahaeng, and based on existing materials, restored its original form and examined its main features. The restoration work of Dongsarok』 was carried out based on Jeong Yu-gil(鄭惟吉)’s anthology 『Imdangyugo(林塘遺稿)』, and by finding and adding exchanged poems from the Jongsagwon(從事官) Kwon Byeok(權擘) and Jeong Yu-il(鄭惟一)’s anthology. As a result, it was confirmed that 『Dongsarok』 inherited the tradition of the previous 『Dongsajip』 in terms of system and format, but in terms of content, the hardships of the envoy group, the will to Munjang-Hwaguk(文章華國), and literary pride were particularly emphasized. The discussion in this paper has a certain significance in that it empirically examines one aspect of 『Dongsarok』, which formed a long literary tradition of its own throughout the 16th and 17th centuries, but whose specific aspects have been difficult to examine because the original work does not remain intact.
