Abstract
Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the differences in job competency according to work type using a competency indicators developed for workers with disabilities and to verify the validity of the competency indicators. Method: To identify differences in job competency according to the work type and characteristics of workers with disabilities, protective workplaces, standard workplaces, and general businesses were recruited, and trainers and business managers were asked to evaluate the job competency of trainees and workers through a non-face-to-face method. The survey was distributed and collected from August 15 to September 30, 2024, and data from a total of 209 workers with disabilities were collected. One-way ANOVA was conducted to compare the differences in job competency according to the work type and characteristics, and multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to verify the influence of each competency indicators. Results: As a result of analyzing the difference in job competency by the work type, trainees showed the lowest job competency, and minimum wage workers showed the highest job competency. As a result of analyzing the effect of subject characteristics on job competency, the work type was the most influential, and type of institution, type of disability, and job type also affected job competency. Conclusion: Through the results of this study, it was confirmed that there are differences in job competency by the work type, and the 20 competency index items developed to evaluate the job competency of workers with disabilities reflected the actual job performance ability of workers according to the work type. It can be usefully used as an evaluation index to measure the job competency of workers with disabilities in the process of deciding on various support systems in the future.
