본 연구의 목적은 미디어 중에서도 신문 매체가 청소년의 언어문화에 관한 시각과 인식을 구성하고 전달하는 방식과 양상에 관해 논의하는 것이다. 청소년 시기의 국어교육을 담당하는 학교의 국어교육은 청소년 언어문화에 대하여 깊이 있게 이해하고, 적절하고 타당한 교육적 처방을 내려야 하는 주체이다. 본 연구에서는 청소년 언어문화에 대한 사회적 의사소통 체계에 대한 점검을 제안한다. 즉,신문기사에서 특정한 방식으로 청소년 언어문화를 재현하는 방식과 양상에 대한비판적 검토를 수행하고자 한다. 특히 본 연구에서는 1980년대부터 2012년 현재에이르기까지 총 5종의 주요 신문사의 기사 중에서 청소년 언어문화 관련 기사 102건을 분석 대상으로 삼는다. 이를 통해 다음 세 가지 연구문제를 검토하였다: 첫째,청소년 언어문화 관련 신문기사의 분포 양상, 둘째, 신문기사의 청소년 언어문화재현 방식과 의미, 셋째, 신문기사의 청소년 언어문화 재현과 국어교육의 관계 설정. 검토 결과, 신문 기사에서 재현하고 있는 청소년 언어문화는 부정적인 방향으로 편향된 부분이 부각된 상태였다. 또한 균형 잡힌 시각에서 현상 자체에 대한충분한 이해를 도모하는 데 국어교육적 시각이 충분히 반영되지 못하고 있는 실태도 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The present study is purposed to discuss certain influences of news media,specifically on the constitution and transmission of the language and cultures ofthe adolescents. Korean Education under which adolescent period KoreanEducation is conducted is the main subject to command comprehensiveunderstanding of youth’s language culture and to take proper educationalmeasures. The study suggests an overall review of the communication structureof the language and cultures of the adolescents ― to critically analyze thespecific ways and aspects of the representation administered by mass medianews paper articles. The study investigates 102 newspaper articles that dealt withthe language and cultures of the adolescents in 5 major newspaper companiesfrom 1980 to present (Dec. 2012). Throughout the research, following threeresearch questions are studied: 1) the distribution and dispersion of newspaperarticles having the language and cultures of the adolescents, 2) therepresentational ways of articles and their meaning, 3) the creation of theappropriate relationship between newspaper articles’ representation of thelanguage and cultures of adolescents and Korean Education.
