초등학교에서 읽기 기능의 학습은 통합적 측면에서 다루어질 필요가 있다. 이때 읽기 기능의 위상은 Drake와 Ingram의 논의에 근거하여, 탈학문적(기능적) 유형과 간학문적(구조적, 질적통합) 유형 사이에 위치한다. 그 결과 통합의 기본 취지에는 아동의 발달이 전제되어 있음이 드러난다. 그래서 읽기 기능의 범주와 요소를 논의할 때에도 아동의 발달 단계를 가장 중요한 결정 근거로서 고려해야 한다. 그 결과 읽기 기능의 3가지 차원, 즉 세부/중심 내용 찾기, 단순 추론하기, 복잡 추론하기가 도출되었다. 또한 이를 고려한 읽기 능력 향상 프로그램에서 초등학교 3학년과 5학년 수준에서 세부/중심 내용 찾기가 중심적 기능이 됨을 확인함으로써, 읽기 기능의 통합적 접근을 위해서는 읽기 기능의 범주와 수준을 위계화하는 작업이 선행되어야 함을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
Reading skills in elementary school need to be addressed in terms of the integrated aspect. At this time, When it is seen from the discussion of Drake and Ingram, the phase of reading skills is located between transdisciplinary (functional) type and interdisciplinary type (structural, qualitative integration). As a result, the basic purpose of the integration is premised child's development. So, even when we discuss the categories and features of reading skills, steps in the development of the child should be considered as the elements of the most important basis for the decision. Consequently, there is followed from three-dimensional: detail / main idea search; a simple reasoning; complex reasoning in categories and elements of reading skills. Also the reading ability of the children who participated in the program improved to elementary 5-grade, 3-grade. Especially, we confirm the necessity of detail / main idea search in elementary school level. And hierarchy work on the categories and features of Reading skills must precede integrating approach in Reading skills.
