There are usually three types of format, namely, extension method, lateral narrative method, and vertical narrative method. Liu-yong actively utilized various types of extended lyrics, especially by introducing the vertical narrative method that directly captures the narrative, which had an original influence on the narrative of Song-ci. The great feature of the extended lyrics is that it can maintain the lyricism of the work in a new way that combines lyrical songs with narrative stories.
