초록
This study examines how transwomen respond to the problem of gender discrimination in order to find their gender identity and live their lives through the Thai film 'Beautiful Boxer'. The main character, Nong Toom, aims to analyze the process of responding to gender discrimination in society in order to live the life she desires. The way she organizes life can be classified into three. First, passing. She hides her femininity because she is afraid to be teased by her friends. In this way, when a transwoman hides her gender as a man, she is disguised as a male gender in society. Second, coming out. She emphasized femininity with makeup and came out to people by playing Muay Thai. Coming out is a way for transwomen to inform others of their gender identity and to be acknowledged. To get good results, it is necessary to go through communication rather than unilateral notification. Third, becoming a competent in society. The reason she was active in revealing her identity is that she was recognized for sports events based on competence. This discussion of transwomen's way of life will be a momentum of change that can crack the dichotomous gender identity society and make it a place where various people can live.
