ABSTRACT A Mission Apologetic Study concerning salvation contradiction between the Bible and the Quran Kim Eun-Hong (Baekseok University) Salvation is indeed a fundamental concern of every religion. It means that the muslim God "Allah" and the biblical God constitute two distinct and opposing concepts of God. It is also most important issue, in this study, that is a comparison between soteriology of Christianity and Islam. Particularly, Islam teaches that forgiveness is conditioned upon good works and Allah's choice of mercy. Islam teaches that Christ was neither crucified nor resurrected: therefore salvation cannot possibly be had through faith in Christ. The concept of a loving God is foreign to the Muslim mind. Muslim salvation is fatalistic. In contrast to the teaching of the Bible, both the Quran and the Muslim religion are in serious error concerning their teachings on the most important man of history, Jesus Christ. Islam claims that it honors and reverences Jesus even though it rejects what the Bible teaches about Him. It denies His divine nature when it teaches that He was only a servant of God, a mere man. It denies His mission when it teaches that Jesus never dies on the cross. It denies jesus' own teaching concerning the reason He came into world: "to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28). No one can deny that Muslims reject the biblical Jesus. Yet was Jesus Himself who warned all, "...if you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins" (John 8:24). In conclusion, the Quran denies and opposes God's teaching in the Bible; it contains immoral teachings; and it has historial errors, biblical distortions, and contradictions. These characteristics disqualify it for consideration as the true Word of God. Islam teaches that Christ was neither crucified nor resurrected; therefore salvation cannot possibly be had through faith in Christ. For Muslim, their soteriology must be indeed an obstacle for Christian mission towards Islam world. Therefore, it means that we should give the message of the Good News to them, as both the missiological apologetics and the Evangelism concerning the challenge of which Islam has a dream with the world-wide "Ummah" through coming mosaic multi-culturalism in Korea society today.
