이를 위해 ① Place(공간 구조 & 접근성), ② Brand & Atmosphere(브랜드 정체성 & 분위기), ③ Experience & Interaction(경험 & 상호작용), ④ Technology & Operations(기술 & 운영 효율성), ⑤ Sustainability & Safety(지속가능성 & 안전성)의 5각형 분석 프레임을 적용한다.

Abstract

Background This research examines how the visual identity and communication of spaces have changed over time. Commercial spaces shifted from sites of trade to places for consuming experience and brand image, while cultural spaces evolved from government-led facilities into participatory environments shaped by digital technology. Within this context, hybrid cultural-commercial spaces have emerged as platforms where locality and global trends intersect and generational consumption patterns are reflected. Methods Seongsu-dong is selected as a case study area and conducted a comparative analysis of two hybrid cultural spaces. To guide the analysis, a pentagonal framework was applied: Place, Brand & Atmosphere, Experience & Interaction, Technology & Operations, and Sustainability & Safety. Result Through the pentagonal framework, this study shows that Seongsu Yeonbang preserves industrial heritage and offers participatory experiences based on locality and materiality, while LCDC focuses on narrative and world-building, drawing visitors into its storyline. Conclusion This study suggests future directions, including transforming industrial heritage into educational archives, creating personalized experiences, and extending activity into nighttime programs with media facades and soundscapes.
