‘강한’ 인공지능은 철학적 차원에서 일련의 문제를 야기한다. 강한 인공지능이 등장하자, 인간주의적 관점은 인공지능의 특수성과 비교하여 인간의 ‘일반 지능’에 호소하면서 이것이 더 강하다고 주장한다. 본 연구는 그 ‘일반 지능’이 인간주의가 기대하는 만큼 훌륭하고 만족할만한지 살펴볼 것이다. 그 과정에서 인간주의는 어떤 형태이든 인간성을 목적으로 설정하면서 인공지능을 도구의 수준으로 격하하는 경향이 있는데, 그 경향도 분석의 대상이 될 것이다. 그리고 인간능력을 향상시킨다는 초지능주의도, 강한 지능에 관한 한, 합리주의와 인간주의를 결합하는 경향을 드러낸다. 그러면서도 곤궁에 빠지면 ‘도덕 교육’에 호소한다. 이런 태도는 니체의 관점에서 보면 진부한 일이라고 할 수 있다. 니체는 도덕의 발생학을 분석하면서 강자와 약자의 구별을 내세웠고, 이 기준은 강함과 약함의 구별의 고전적 예로 작용한다. 그렇다고 그가 오로지 그 구별에 의존하지는 않았다. 다른 한편으로 그는 힘을 원인으로서의 행위자에 귀속시키는 형이상학적 인과율은 강하게 비판하였다. 이 통찰은 ‘강한’ 지능에 대해서도 적용될 것이다. 강함과 약함의 구별은 쉽게 사라지지는 않을 것이지만, 형이상학적 행위자 개념으로부터 벗어나는 일은 중요하다. 이중으로 얽힌 이 문제들을 분석하는 것이 이 글의 과제이다.
Abstract
‘Strong’ AI causes problems not only in job markets, but also in philosophy. This article will analyzes and re-actualizes them from the standpoint of Nietzsches Genealogy. Among theories concerning strong AI, there are humanistic standpoint and super-intelligence standpoint. Humanistic attitude highlights human general intelligence against strong AI, and thinks general intelligence stronger than AI. But it can hardly meet the demands of smart intelligence and the challenges from strong AI. Moreover, human general intelligence has to avoid the danger of the superfluity. And super-intelligence attitude tends to appeal to enhancement, but this remains in many aspects optimistic and simplistic. Nietzsches concept of ‘die ganzeren Menschen’ seems to have demanded similar enhancements, but still is defying simplistic optimism. Nietzsche has underlined the difference between the strong and the weak in the genealogy of moral, but criticized the metaphysical causality lying in the actor as cause(Ursache). This insight will hold good in the discussion of the strong intelligence. The strength cannot be any more an attribute of individual actor or entity.
