초록
In this paper, I analyse resultatives, a kind of construction in which a process is followed by the indication of telicity: prepositional phrases(PP resultatives); adjectival phrase resultatives(AP resultatives). It is argued that AP resultatives and PP resultatives have different syntactic structures. Adopting a view of l-syntax in accordance with Folli & Ramchand(2004), I suggest that they have three projections, that is, vP, VP and RP which are necessary to represent the event structure. The predicational link between English AP resultatives and their arguments can be possible due to the existence of null R heads, while PP resultatives can be formed through the existence in accomplishment PP.
