시각장애 중등학생의 인구분포학적 특성과 선호 성격 유형에 따른 학습 양식과 학습 유형

시각장애 학생들은 각자 인구분포학적 특성을 달리하며, 이 다른 특성을 기반으로 자신만의 학습 양식과 학습 유형을 개발할 수 있다. 인구분포학적 특성 외에도 성격 유형이 시각장애 학생의 학습에 영향을 주는 요인으로 꼽히고 있다. 본 연구는 인구분포학적 특성과 선호 성격 유형에 따라 시각장애 학생의 학습 양식과 학습 유형이 어떠한지를 알아보기 위해 실시되었다. 시각장애 학교 중등부에 재학 중인 97명의 학생들을 대상으로 주요 인구분포학적 특성을 조사하였고, MBTI 성격 유형검사와 Kolb 학습 유형검사를 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 도출된 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인구분포학적 특성 중 성별과 장애정도에 따라 시각장애 중등학생의 특정 학습 양식에서 차이가 있었고, 선호 성격 경향 중 특정 하위 영역 즉 인식기능에 따라 시각장애 중등학생의 특정 학습 양식에서 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 인구분포학적 특성 중 시각장애 정도만이 시각장애 중등학생의 학습 유형에서 차이를 보여주는 변인이었고, 선호 성격 유형 중 어느 하위 영역에서도 시각장애 중등학생의 학습 유형에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다. 시각장애 학생들의 학습 양식과 학습 유형에 영향을 줄 수 있는 인구분포학적 특성 및 선호 성격 경향을 고려하여 개인별로 적합한 교수·학습 방법을 적용하는 것이 필요하다.
Abstract
This study aimed at providing the basic information on learning modes and styles with respect of demographic characteristics and preferred personality type in secondary students with visual impairments. A total of the 97 subjects were taken for research in junior high schools and senior high schools sited in Seoul and North Chungcheong Province. MBTI and Kolb’s learning style inventory(LSI) have been used to assess participants' learning styles and personality types. Results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, significant difference in a learning mode, that is, active experiment(AE) was found by gender or level of functional vision. Also, there was significant difference in a learning mode, that is, reflective observation(RO) by the SN(Sensing-Intuition) index. Second, significant difference in frequencies of learning style of the students with visual impairments was found by level of functional vision. While the most preferred style of the students with blindness was the diverging style, that of the students with low vision was accommodating style. However, there was no significant difference in frequencies of learning style of the students with visual impairments by preferred personality type. It is important that learning mode and learning style of students with visual impairments could also be assessed and understood according to the demographic variables or preferred personality type.
