초록
21세기에 들어서면서 새로운 세계관이 등장하기 시작했다. 만일 오늘날의시대를 “포스트모던” 시대라고 부른다면 그 이유가 무엇인지, 혹은 “포스트모던”의 특징이 무엇인지 등에 관한 이유를 알아야 할 것이다. 바이스에 의하면, 포스트모던 시대의 분명한 특징 중의 하나를 “절대성이 없다”라는 문장으로 요약, 표현할 수 있을 것이다. 바꾸어 말하면, 오늘날은 동등한 의미들을 가진 상당히 많은 “상대적”인 견해들에 근거하고 있는데 이것들은 물질주의(혹은 배금주의), 세속주의, 자기중심주의 등으로 특징지을 수 있으며이 모든 것들은 기독교 공동체 의식을 파괴하는 역할을 하는 것이다. 이와 같은 문제를 인식하고, 본 연구의 목적은 문제 해결의 중요한 역할을하는 도구로 그리고 기독교적 학문과 신앙공동체의 두 기둥으로서의 기독교대학의 중요성을 연구하는 데 있다. 본 연구는 리처즈의 교회론적 공동체 이론, 쉐릴의 신정통주의 관점에서의 만남의 신앙공동체, 코우, 넬슨, 웨스터호프 3세, 리틀의 사회과학과 가르침을 통한 접근 그리고 신상공동체 안에서기독교교육의 의미와 신앙공동체를 분석하기 위한 토마스 그룸의 해석학 등을 연구한다. 마지막으로, 본 연구는 신앙공동체 교육이론의 주요한 개념들인 제자훈련,만남, 사회화, 가르침 그리고 해석학 등을 신앙과 학문의 공동체로 간주되어지는 기독교대학에 적용하고자 한다. 이와 더불어, 본 연구는 신앙과 학문의공동체를 추구하고자 노력하는 백석대학교를 좋은 본보기로 소개하고 실천적인 적용을 위한 것으로서의 개혁주의생명신학 선언문을 소개한다.
Abstract
Today as we enter the twenty-first century, a new world view is emerging. If we call the present times as the “post modern” age, we should know the reason why it is and what the characteristics are. According to Veith, one of the most apparent characteristics is summarized by the following sentence, “There are No Absolutes.” In other words, the present is grounded on many equally relevant “relative” views and it is characterized by materialism (or mammon-ism), secularism, self-centeredness, which all work together to demolish the Christian community consciousness. Being aware of the problem, this paper studies the importance of the Christian University, considered to be the pillar of Christian learning and the community of faith, as a significant tool in addressing these problems. This paper studies the theories of Richards’ ecclesiastical community,Sherill’s neo-orthodox views of the faith community of “encounter”, Coe,Nelson, Westerhoff III, and Little’s social science and teaching approaches,and the hermeneutics of Groome in order to analyze the faith community and the meaning of Christian education in the faith community. Finally, this paper tries to apply core concepts of faith community education theory, such as making disciples, encounter, socialization, teaching,and hermeneutics, to the learning community of the Christian university which is regarded as a faith community. In addition, this paper introduces Baekseok University, which tries to pursue and nurture this faith learning community, as one good sample and the Declaration of Society of Reformed Life theology for practical application in Christian life.
