어말어미 ‘-아/어’의 구분과 관련한 몇 문제 ― 연결어미와 종결어미를 중심으로 ―

This paper aims to explain and describe identity of clause connective endings 'a/ə' and word-final endings 'a/ə'. In the sphere of phonology, regardless of mophological categories so called clause connective endings and word-final endings, the endings 'a/ə' are accounted for. Furthermore in the sphere of syntax and morphology, regardless of observation on the phonological phenomena, many researchers described clause connective endings and word-final endings, the endings 'a/ə'. According to Hong-Bin, Im(1984) which described the endings 'a/ə' morphologically and syntactically, this paper explained morphological identities of word-final endings 'a/ə' based on phonological and syntactical evidences. The differences between clause connective endings and word-final endings, the endings 'a/ə' are observed on irregular verbal conjugations such as 'ha-+-jə→hɛ', 'tö-+-ə→twɛ', same vowel omissions after completely direct assimilation, j-glide formation, w-glide formation and ɥ-glide formation or j-inserting after 'ɛ' final stem on some dialects. Syntactically, sentence-final endings 'a/ə' are able to combined with pre-final endings such as '-əss-' and '-kess-' but clause connective endings 'a/ə' are not able to combined with these pre-final endings. In this paper, I accounted for that clause connective endings 'a/ə' and sentence-final endings 'a/ə' are not same morpheme based on these phonological and syntactical differences.
