DEX는 AMM(Automated market maker, 자동화 마켓 메이커)에 의해 가격 책정이 이루어져 Order book(오더북)이 제공되지 않고 거래 속도도 중앙화 거래소에 비해 느리다는 점이다.

Abstract

This paper examined the growth potential and limitations of DEX. DEX refers to a decentralized virtual asset exchange operated in a P2P method, unlike a server-client centralized virtual asset exchange. Existing centralized exchanges have problems such as hacking, restrictions on deposit and withdrawal, marketing costs, and low transparency. DEX is drawing attention as an alternative to the centralized virtual asset exchange. China's virtual asset regulations accelerated the revitalization of DEX, and as the Special Act took effect on September 25, 2021 and was approved at the State Council on February 9, 2021, 20% of the income generated from the transfer and loan of virtual assets was separately taxed as other income. DEX is currently in the growth stage and has limitations. DEX is priced by automated market makers (AMM), so order books are not provided and transactions are slower than centralized exchanges. In addition, DEX has limitations in that it cannot exchange nominal currency with high fees. Accessibility is also a task to be solved. However, it has great implications in that DEX is an attempt to truly decentralize.
