태권도 용어 정립 과정에 대한 내러티브 탐구

이 연구는 태권도용어정립 및 태권도기술개발 연구에 참여한 연구원으로서 용어 정립 과정 동안 경험한 정립 부담에 관한 셀프 연구이다. 이 글은 셀프 연구를 통해 태권도 용어 정립 실무 담당자의 살아있는 인식과 경험을 내러티브 형태로 기술하고 분석하였다. 연구자가 태권도 용어 정립 과정에서 가지고 있었던 부담감을 반성적으로 이야기하는 현장 텍스트를 작성하고 그 텍스트들을 반복적으로 읽어가면서 연구 텍스트를 구성해 가는 방법을 활용하였다. 수집된 텍스트 자료들은 Connelly와 Clandinin(1990)이 제시한 분석 단계(넓게 보기, 심층적으로 파악하기, 이야기하기, 다시 이야기하기)를 사용하여 분석하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과 태권도 용어정립의 부담은 4가지로 요약(범주화) 되었다. 기존 태권도 교본에 담긴 다양한 가치를 훼손시키지 않으면서도 기술 개념을 확장시켜야 하는 부담, 기존 태권도 용어의 기본틀을 유지하면서도 일관성을 향상시켜야 하는 부담, 여러 명칭으로 불리는 같은 기술의 용어를 하나로 통일시켜야 하는 부담, 현장에서 사용하는 기술 및 용어를 최대한 수용하여 용어 정립 결과의 현장 적합성을 높여야 하는 부담을 심층적으로 기술하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to address the experienced burdens of a Kukkiwon researcher for establishing a Taekwondo technical terminology. A self-study was implemented in order to make the reflections of the person in charge of establishing a Taekwondo technical terminology regarding given burdens encountered in revising the Taekwondo technical terminology and to describe previously unseen insights afforded by the researcher's personal reflections on burdens. The gathered texts were interpreted through the processes of broadening, burrowing, and storying and restorying(Connelly & Clandinin, 1990). This paper articulates an analysis of four different burdens during establishing a Taekwondo technical terminology: (1) burden to enlarge the concept of Taekwondo techniques without contaminating the old Taekwondo textbook''s value, (2) burden to improve the consistency with maintaining the previous terminology framework, (3) burden to unify the different terminology expressions for same technique, and (4) burden to increase the on-the-spot suitability for the techniques and terms. This paper is anticipated to amplify the interest for the Taekwondo terminology, and the sustainable endeavor to reorganize it is needed.
