태권도사범으로서의 삶과 경험에 관한내러티브 탐구

본 연구의 목적은 태권도사범의 삶과 경험을 질적연구 내러티브 분석을 통해 지도자를 지향하는 태권도 전공자들에게 시사점을 제공함과 동시에 태권도장 본질적인 사회적 역할에 대한 연구에 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 의도적 표본추출법을 사용하여 KTA 전국태권도장경영 및 지도법 경진대회에 출전해 입상한 사범 중 도장경영 경력 15년 이상인 8명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으며, 연구방법으로는 경험의 의미를 가장 효과적으로 연구할 수 있는 내러티브 탐구방법을 적용하였다. 탐구절차는 Creswell(2002)의 7단계를 간소화 하여 진행되었으며, 연구결과라 말할 수 있는 다시 이야기하기 에서는 3차원적 탐구 공간인 시간성, 장소, 사회성에 주목하여 연구 참여자들의 삶과 경험의 의미를 도출한 결과는 아래와 같다. 첫째, 시간성 공통요인을 통해 ‘태권도 시작과 선택’, ‘사범에서 태권도장 경영자’, ‘KTA 교육강사’ 순으로 이루어지는 시간의 흐름에 따른 연구 참여자들의 경험 속에서 사범의 이야기를 도출하였다. 둘째, 장소 공통요인에서는 ‘어린 시절 태권도장에서의 서로 다른 기억’, ‘사범으로 일하던 태권도장에서의 같은 관점’, ‘자신의 태권도장’ 등으로 구성된다. 셋째, 사회성 공통요인인 관계적 내러티브에서는 ‘태권도 사범으로서의 나’, ‘후배 사범님들에게의 고언’으로 구성된다. 본 연구를 통해 태권도 발전의 중추적인 역할을 담당하고 있는 도장의 본질을 알아가기 이전에 교육의 주체인 사범의 역할과 정체성을 이해할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 대한민국 태권도장의 교육 현실의 문제점 파악과 방안을 모색하는데 기여를 할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic data to Taekwondo majors aiming for leadership to help their efforts to maintain the essence of Taekwondo studio through narrative about the life and experience of Taekwondo masters’. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, eight participants who participated in the KTA Taekwondo Studio Management Contest and won awards are selected by intentionally sampling method. The research participants in this study were generally called 'Taekwondo chiefs' but in this study, the titles of the chiefs are not used, instead, they are called ‘Taekwondo masters’ as an operative definition. The results of this study in terms of time, place, and sociality can be summarized as follows: First, through the common factors of time, we derive the story of the teacher in the experience of the participants according to the flow of time in the order of 'Taekwondo start and choose', 'Taekwondo manager' and 'KTA education instructor'. Second, common factors of place consist of 'different memories in Taekwondo field in childhood', 'same viewpoint in Taekwondo field which worked as a teacher', and 'own Taekwondo chapter'. Third, in relational narrative which is a common factor of sociality, it consists of 'Tae Kwon Do as a teacher' and 'Adjective to junior teachers'. Through this study, we are able to understand the role and identity of the teacher, who is the main subject of education, before finding out the essence of the Tae Kwon Do, which plays a pivotal role in Taekwondo development. It would be possible to contribute.
