콜버그는 정의 공동체 접근에서 교사가 도덕적 사고 과정의 촉진자, 소크라테스적 질문자, 혹은 발달의 지지자를 넘어 도덕 내용을 직접 가르치고 주장하는 주창자가 되어야 한다고 주장했다. 그렇지만 도덕 내용을 직접 가르치는 일이 주입이 되지 않아야 하며 이를 위해 강요가 아닌 이성적으로 설득하고 동의를 구하는 과정이 필요하다고 덧붙였다. 이에 교사는 학생과 동등하게 다양한 학교 운영 제도의 회의에 참여하여 자신의 주장을 펼치고 공동체와 정의의 가치에 근거해 그 정당성을 설명했다. 이처럼 정의 공동체 접근에서 교사는 학생과의 대화를 통해 도덕적 영향력을 발휘했다. 본 연구는 정의 공동체 학교 중 한 곳인 클러스터에서 교사와 학생 간 대화를 분석해 정의와 공동체, 민주적 참여의 가치를 실천하고 주창하며 도덕적 영향력을 발휘하는 교사의 대화 방법을 밝혔다.
Abstract
Kohlberg argued that in the just community approach, teachers should teach moral contents directly as an advocate for certain moral content beyond the facilitator of the moral thought process, a Socrates questioner, or a supporter of development. However, he added that teaching moral content should not be instilled, and for this, a process of persuading and seeking consent rationally, not coercion, is needed. Accordingly, at the Justice Community School, teachers participated in meetings of democratic governance(three main institutions) equally with students, made arguments, and explained their legitimacy based on the values of the community and justice. In this way, teachers exerted moral influence through dialogue with students. This study analyzed the dialogues between teachers and students in a Cluster Just Community School, to present the dialogue method of teachers who exert moral influence.
