초록

At least 13.5 million migrant children in Africa - including those living as refugees, migrants or internally displaced persons – urgently need national actions, regional and international cooperation supporting their rights and maintain their safety. There are set of issues that are intertwined with the issue of child migration, all of which have a severe impact on children. They may migrate alone or with a companion. Some of them may be able to return where others may settle in the host societies. In the end, they often have to deal with huge risks such as: marginalization or discrimination, facing “political” challenges related to the rights of citizenship, nationality, and economic insecurity, in addition to being “uprooted” as they have lost their identity, forced to live in a foreign country of a different culture and social contexts. In fact, migration is a problem with making a domino effect. It began with conflict, developed into fighting, then movement, then integration or non-integration, then conflict...etc.), which creates a complexity that needs direct and serious actions at the state and international system levels. The paper assumes that failure to a proper deal with the issue of child migration will lead to the emergence of more complex problems with a wider impact. Despite this complexity, there is little research on the relationship between migration and children’s wellbeing in Africa. Therefore, this paper, attempts to fill the research gap related in particular to research (in Arabic) that addresses the issue of child migration in Africa. The paper not only lists the facts and development of child migration in Africa, it also attempts to suggest a vision whose application research would improve the conditions of these children and subsequently might help in better dealing with the problem. Moreover, in some parts of the paper, Egypt as a transit or host country for immigrants in Africa, will be used as a case study.
