언론 보도에서 나타난 익명 정보원에 관한 연구 : ‘미국산 쇠고기 수입 논란’을 중심으로

이 연구는 언론이 내재된 편향성을 드러내기 위해 익명의 정보원을 얼마나 다양하게 활용하고 있는지를 검토하였다. 구체적으로 최근의 갈등 사안이었던 '미국산 쇠고기 수입 논란' 사례를 대상으로 조선일보, 동아일보, 한겨레신문, 경향신문이 어떠한 보도 태도를 보였는지, 어떠한 정보원 유형이 주로 이용되었는지, 출처를 밝히지 않은 익명 정보원을 어떻게 활용되었는지 등을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 조선일보와 동아일보는 ‘미국산 쇠고기 수입 논란’에 대해 부정적 태도를 보였으며, 한겨레신문과 경향신문은 긍정적 태도를 보였다. 정보원 유형은 총 34개의 유목으로 분류되었으며, 전체적으로 진보 시민단체, 야당 의원, 정부 당국자, 여당 의원 등이 많이 인용되었음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 익명 정보원 유형은 전체 750개 정보원 유형 중에서 303건을 차지하여 40.4%의 매우 높은 비율을 보였으며, 일반시민(익명)과 정부 관계자 등이 주로 이용되었다. 또 중심적 정보원과 부차적 정보원을 구분한 분석 결과, 4개 신문사 모두 익명의 정보원을 중심적 정보원으로 활용하는 비율이 높음을 알 수 있었다. 다음으로 익명의 정보원 활용을 보다 더 심층적으로 분석하기 위해 신문 기사 텍스트 상의 진술을 분석한 결과, 익명 정보원의 진술은 기사 내용에서 결정적인 근거로 활용되고 있었으며, 의견 기사(사설 및 칼럼 등)보다는 사실 기사(스트레이트 기사 등)에서 익명 정보원을 더 많이 활용하고 있었다. 또 각 신문사들은 자신들의 입장을 드러내기 위해서 익명 정보원을 적극적으로 활용하고 있었다. 결론적으로 익명 정보원은 기사의 작성과 이데올로기적 성향 그리고 신문사의 입장을 나타내는데 중요한 역할을 하며, 언론은 이를 적극적으로 활용하여 자신들의 성향에 따른 편향성을 드러내고 있었다.
Abstract
This study inverstgates how Anonymous news source in the Newspapers use variously. Concretely, this study analysis ‘what type is news source used manly’, ‘how Anonymous news source use’ throught article of The Chosen Ilbo, The Dong Ilbo, The Hankyoreh Shinmun, The Kyunghyang Shinmun on the ‘controversies of U.S. beef imports’ case which is social complication issues. As results of analysis, type of news sourc classed as total 34 analytic categories. Overall NGO, member of opposition party, government officials, member of the ruling party quoted frequently on the report. And Anonymous news source account for 303 case(40.4%) of total 750 analytic categories. Also civilian. Anonymous and Officials use frequently on the report. As a result of analysis divided central and subsidiary news source, all of four newspapers use mainly Anonymous news source as central news source. For study using of Anonymous news source in depth analysis statement of newspapers' article. The results of the analyese, statement of Anonymous news source used difinte base on the article. Also it used more fact ariticl(straight aricle) than opinion ariticl(editorial and column) on the article. Also each of the News organigation use actively Anonymous news source to express one's own viewpoint. Conclusionly, Anonymous news source paly an important part to express News organigations' own viewpoint and article of written and ideological inclination. And Newspapers express bias of own ideology using actively these.
