일상적 관용표현 ‘호랭이 물어가네’의 용법과 의미 - 전북 방언을 중심으로 -

이 연구에서는 전북 방언의 ‘호랭이 물어가네’라는 관용표현의 다양한 문법적 특징과 비유적 의미를 해석하고자 한다. ‘호랭이 물어가네’ 구문은 ‘뜻밖의 일이나 상황’에 대해 깨달음을 나타내는 관용표현이다. 뜬금없이 일어난 일이나 소식이 없이 오는 일 등에 주로 사용된다. ‘호랭이 물어가고 자빠졌네.’ 구문은 마음에 들지 않은 일이나 뜻밖의 상황에 대하여 강조하면서 부정적으로 표현하는 관용표현이다. ‘호랭이 물어갈’ 구문은 관형형어미가 연결되어 수식어가 된 구성이다. 여기서 ‘호랭이 물어가다’는 ‘아쉬움, 안타까움’이나 ‘비아냥거림, 빈정거림’의 뜻을 주로 나타낸다. ‘호랭이 물어갈 놈의 X’ 구문의 특징은 ‘호랭이 물어갈’이 ‘놈’을 꾸미고 다시 ‘호랭이 물어갈 놈의’의 구성으로 뒤에 나오는 수식대상을 꾸미는 이중구조를 갖고 있다. ‘감탄사 + 호랭이 물어가네’ 구문에서 여러 구문 앞에 감탄사가 들어가는 이유는 ‘호랭이 물어가다’의 구문들이 감탄의 뜻을 갖기 때문이다. 위의 표현들은 ‘아주 뜻밖에 겪는 일, 또는 그 일이 어이없을 때, 주로 부정적인 상황을 이를 때’ 쓰인다. 이차적으로 ‘갑작스러움, 뜻밖임’, ‘엉뚱함’의 의미를 갖는다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the various usages of the idiom of ‘horaengi mureogane’ used in the Jeonbuk dialect and interpret its figurative meaning. The construction ‘horaengi mureogane’ is an idiomatic expression that expresses realization of ‘an unexpected event or situation.’ The construction ‘horaengi mureogago jappajyeonne’ is an idiomatic expression that is expressed negatively by emphasizing an unfavorable event or unexpected situation. The construction ‘horaengi mureogal’ is a structure in which a adjective ending is connected to the idiom of ‘horaengi mureogada’. here, ‘horaengi mureogada’ mainly refers to the meaning of ‘regretfulness, regret’ or ‘sneakyness, sarcasm’. In the construction of ‘horaengi mureogal nomeu X’, first, the modifier ‘horaengi mureogal’ modifies ‘nom’, and it has a dual structure that modifies the object that follows in the construction of ‘horaengi mureogal nomeu’. In the construction ‘interjection + horaengi mureogane’, the reason that the interjection is placed at the front of a sentence is because the constructions of ‘horaengi mureogada’ have the meaning of admiration. The expression ‘horaengi mureogada’ is used ‘when something happens very unexpectedly or when it is absurd, mainly when it comes to a negative situation’. secondly, it has the meaning of ‘sudden, unexpected’, ‘unfamiliar’.
